Disc Golf Form: My Appearance on All Birdies No Bogeys
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of appearing on the JomezPro-sponsored podcast, “All Birdies No Bogeys.” The event presented a wonderful opportunity to speak to a broader public. I’ve been exploring disc golf backhand form for over a quarter century, investing thousands of hours and no small amount of my own constitution. Since finally beginning to understand the mechanics in early 2023, I’ve been relentless in learning and teaching them. All that work is finally paying off.
You can watch the podcast in its entirety here; it is essentially unedited.
Primarily, my time on ABNB gave me a chance to engage in some important background storytelling and context. I have been at this a long while, with countless small progressions and just as many regressions. I’ve spent months toiling away hopelessly, feeling like I’ve learned nothing the whole time, while harming my body and spiriThe two incredible hosts, Brian Earhardt and Nate Perkins, are both students and teachers of form themselves. They’re very familiar with all the confusion and mystery surrounding backhand teaching. Consequently, they were fascinated with my novel approach to teaching, particularly the elements utilizing “brain hacking.”
This will not be my last appearance on ABNB. I have already been invited back, and hope that happens sometime during the winter season. I plan to spend much of my second appearance diving deeper into form, and doing some on-the-fly analysis of both pro and amateur mechanics. I’m extremely grateful to Brian, Nate and Jomez for helping me spread the information on The Method system. I can’t wait to report back after my next appearance on Disc Golf’s best podcast!
